Amadeus Pro for ipod instal2/29/2024 Since I can use the program on a different (non-Retina) PC I can afford to be patient. I had to force-quit the app and based on the crash report that was sent to him he reached out to me with an explanation. There's a screen-drawing bug that's giving quite a performance hit. Something to be aware of at the moment: if your *only* PC is a late 2012 PC *with Retina Display* (non-Retina display's aren't affected), you may want to hold off. I was a Cool Edit Pro/Audition and Sound Forge user for years, and this sits in that same sweet spot for me. Functionally it's great for folks who need more than what something like Audacity gives you, but don't need the complexity of a Pro Tools or even Logic. I'm giving it five stars not only for the functionality, but also because of the responsiveness of the author. The features in this app are too numerous to mention in this little box, but if you are a DJ that cares about the way your songs sound through the Mains, this is, by far, the best app. If your song has bad stereo imaging, you can either simply mono it or correct the balance. If you apply the effect to heavily, then your song sounds like it's in a can.Īnother neat feature is it will list effects that you use most often in an "Actions List" window which comes in handy if you want to apply the effect without having to go through the setup process (meaning once you set the effect up, you can use that same effect just by clicking it in the Actions List window. The neat thing about the Denoising is it's simple and it doesn't get rid of any top-end of the song. Some of the songs that I do are old songs where there were tape hiss, this app has a feature "Denoising>White Noise", depending on the strength of the signal, I generally start at -70db and work my way up from there (up meaning -65db then -60db, etc). You can get rid of dead air at the beginning of and the end of songs easily. I load entire albums at a time and it loads fast and flawlessly. If you're a DJ and want to cleanup some of your songs, this app is great.

Is this worth the subscription price? Maybe… it wasn’t for me for personal use, but for professional tethered portrait sessions: I feel it offers just enough to be useful and it’s great for clients to interact with. Understanding that, I think it accomplishes what it aims to.ĭo I wish we could have full desktop capture one on an iPad? Yes.ĭo I wish for more editing tools? Definitely (levels, curves, brushes, etc. What it is, I have learned, is a fantastic tool for a very narrow scope of work - basically a companion to the full desktop capture one to use for tethered shooting -or- a just-good-enough editor to get something out while in the field. So many features are missing and it’s really not ready for use as a standalone raw editor. It is not a fully baked standalone alternative to the Mac version. I 100% get the frustration with the iPad version of capture one and a few months ago I would have rated it it 3 stars at BEST.

Domain and range of a graph calculator2/29/2024 How do you find the domain and range on a calculator?Įnter input in the specified box and click on the calculate button to display output. What is the difference between domain and range?ĭomain is all the values that go into function and range is all values that come out.ĭomain and range are always written from smaller to larger values or from left to right for domain and from bottom to the top of the graph for range.ĥ. The range is the set of all possible output values (commonly the variable y or f(x)), which result from using a particular function.ģ. The domain of the radical equation is any x value for which the sign is not negative.ĭomain is a set of all values for which the function is mathematically defined. Range is all real numbers such that f(x)>=-2 Square root must be always positive or zero What are the domain and range of the function f(x)=-2+sqrt(x+5)? This means, the function is not defined when y=-5 and x=-1 Substitute the x=-1 in the above equation So, the domain is all real numbers except -1 We can say that the function is not defined at x=-1īecause when we substitute -1for x, we get zero in the denominator This can be written in the interval notation as (-∞, 3) U (3, ∞).Question1: Find the domain and range of the function y=x 2-3x-4/x+1 So the domain is the set of all rational numbers except 3. For example, to find the domain of f(x) = 2/(x-3), we set x-3 ≠ 0, by solving this, we get x≠3. To find the domain of a rational function, we just set the denominator not equal to zero. How to Find the Domain of a Function which is Rational? Thus, its domain is the set of all non-negative real numbers. For example, for the function f(x) = √x, it is possible to input only non-negative values into it. The domain of a function is the set of all values that are possible to input into it. The domain in math is usually defined for relations/functions. The Domain and Range Calculator also shows you the step-by-step examples and calculus topics related to the problem. What is the Definition of Domain in Math? Enter the formula for which you want to calculate the domain and range of a function and get all possible x and y values. Inputting the values x =, which is a singleton set. Consider the above box as a function f(x) = 2x. i.e., The domain in math is the set of all possible inputs for the function. 1.ĭomain and Range of Exponential Functionsĭomain and Range of Trigonometric Functionsĭomain and Range of an Absolute Value Functionĭomain and Range of a Square Root FunctionĪ domain of a function refers to "all the values" that can go into a function without resulting in undefined values. Let us learn to find the domain and range of a function, and also graph them. Thus, the range is the possible outputs we can have here, that is, the flavors of soda in the machine. No matter what amount you pay, you won't get a cheeseburger from a soda machine.Hence, the domain represents the inputs we can have here, that is, quarters and one-dollar bills. The machine will not give you any flavor of the soda if pennies are input. You can use quarters and one-dollar bills to buy a soda. Domain and range are the main aspects of functions. There are different methods to calculating the range of a function depending on the type you are working with. The shape of a quadratic function on a graph is parabola pointing up or down. A quadratic function has the form ax 2 + bx + c: f (x) 2x 2 + 3x + 4. Similarly, for functions, we input different numbers and we get new numbers as the result. Confirm that you have a quadratic function. Next, press the button to get the answer with steps. Enter the 3 coefficients of your quadratic equation in the 3 boxes. In an instant you will have the Domain and Range of a Parabola. When you put in a certain amount of money, you can select different types of sodas. Enter your Quadratic Equation into the Calculator and press SOLVE. The range of the reciprocal function is the same as the domain of the inverse function. So, the domain is the set of all real numbers except the value x -3. Solution: To find the domain of the reciprocal function, let us equate the denominator to 0. Functions in mathematics can be compared to the operations of a vending (soda) machine. Find the domain and range of the reciprocal function y 1/(x+3).

Spiral sliced ham2/29/2024 "Leftover ham is one of the best parts of being the host. However, if it’s spiral cut, it may hold up better in the fridge as it’s waiting to be used in leftovers. Something like the Harry & David option that comes pre-sliced will be extremely easy to repurpose into sandwiches. This will also depend a lot on your preferences. "Hams that are smoked over real hardwood and featuring a very short list of ingredients you can easily pronounce produce a premium ham you can proudly serve your family." "Some more commercial hams on store shelves use corn syrup, potato starch, chemical curing agents and artificial flavoring," says Andrew Hunter, the Executive Chef at Niman Ranch. When it comes to pre-seasoned hams, experts say you should pay attention. Do you like the rich sweetness of honey-glazed ham? The enhanced meatiness of smoked ham? Would Italian spices, like rosemary and sage, add to your experience or detract from it? The exact ham you like will probably depend a lot on what you have the most nostalgia around. It’s generally better to have leftovers than to not be able to feed your guests, though, so we recommend ordering a little more than you expect to serve. Our picks serve anywhere from 6 to 22 people, and the right amount for your dinner will depend on your guest count. What to Look for in Mail-Order Hams Size and Serving But Rastelli's Boneless Carving Ham is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to stretch their money's worth. Size: 2 pounds of ham, 2 pounds of turkey | Serves: 6 to 8 people | Shipping: Order by Monday, December 18 for Standard Shipping, Tuesday, December 19 for 3-Day Express, Wednesday, December 19 for 2-Day Express, Thursday, December 21 for Overnight, or Friday, December 22 for Saturday Overnight for delivery before Christmas Dayįor sustainability, flavor, and value, we love the D'Artagnan Berkshire Pork Bone-In Spiral Ham, and having the bone included means you can make a delicious soup or pot of beans after. You can also buy a complete meal, so you won’t even have to worry about side dishes. Harry and David may be best known for its fruit baskets and nut selections, but it's also one of the best places to order meat online, including this pre-sliced ham and turkey combo or a spiral-sliced ham. I was impressed with the flavor of both the ham and the turkey-they made delicious sandwiches," says Mary Kate Hoban, The Spruce Eats' Associate Editorial Director. "This is such a convenient option for anyone who doesn't want to spend all day cooking meat and would be a great addition to a buffet at a party any time of the year. When you just can't decide between the most delicious meats, this sampler saves the day. Maybe half of your family wants turkey and the other half prefers ham. Order by December 12 to ensure delivery by Christmas. Size: 4 pounds | Serves: 5 to 6 people | Shipping: Orders are shipped within 5 business days of being placed. Sides like Crème Fraiche Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Creamed Spinach, and Scalloped Potatoes, as well as desserts like Apple Pie, Cherry Crisp, and a Traditional Apple Pie are available to add to your order. This year the company has made it easy to get everything you need to dress the table during the holiday season. At 4 pounds, it feeds over a handful of people for significantly less than some other hams out there, making for a budget-friendly Mother's Day celebration. Perhaps what we love about it most, though, is the price. Once it's out of the oven, the ham is slightly smoky, fragrant, and easy to carve. You'll have to put the honey glaze on yourself with about 30 minutes left, but that also allows you to throw on any other flavorings you'd like, too. Though it requires cooking, it takes less than an hour for it to be hot and ready. This hardwood-smoked ham is made from Duroc-breed pork and ships frozen. It is recommended you select a delivery date by December 21 to account for any delays in shipping. FedEx Priority Overnight is also available. Size: 8-10 pounds | Serves: 16 to 18 people | Shipping: Orders ship via FedEx Overnight and are delivered on the specific date of your choosing. It also arrives exactly when promised, so I never have to worry about delays," says Julia Warren, the VP of Commerce. I'm pretty picky about spiral hams-because they can get dry-but this one comes out perfectly. It’s tender, juicy, well-marbled, and deserves a spot on your table this Christmas season. As such, it’s not really a surprise that the company's ham is fantastic-it’s made with pasture-raised Berkshire pork that’s been smoked over real applewood. Thanks to partnerships with chefs and restaurants (first in New York City, then across the country), D’Artagnan has reshaped what we think of as good meat in the United States. D’Artagnan was founded in 1985 by Ariane Daguin, the daughter of a French chef who fell in love with foie gras and found an opportunity to produce it domestically.

Almond paste cake2/29/2024 Allulose is a new sweetener that is gaining acceptance.Try a partial substitution first and scale it up as per taste. Substitute the flour and corn starch with whole wheat pastry flour using weight measures.Egg Free: You can probably try replacing eggs with ¾ cup thick vegan yogurt.Use plant based milk and dairy-free chocolate. Dairy Free: Combine thin nut-butter (tahini consistency) with equal amount of oil and replace butter by weight or try vegan butter. You may try replacing eggs with ¾ cup thick vegan yogurt. Check this marble cake recipe that uses this approach. Vegan: Combine thin nut-butter (tahini consistency) with equal amount of oil and replace butter by weight.Gluten Free: Try substituting all purpose flour with gluten free flour. These are suggestions to try for this almond pound cake recipe, but I have not tested some of them. The dense cake will soak up all the juices for great texture and the subtle almond flavor makes it even more delicious. Make Trifle: Slice the cake and use it to make an amazing trifle dessert. With Ice Cream: Serve it with vanilla ice cream, raspberries and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.Top with a few almond slices on either glaze. But you can take it up a notch with the apricot and/or chocolate glaze. Simple or Fancy: This almond pound cake tastes great just as it is.Fold the flour in evenly and scrape the bottom of bowl to not miss any flour.Soften the marzipan paste really well into a smooth and pliable mass that mixes easily into the batter to prevent any lumps.Decorate: Top with apricot jam syrup and/or chocolate glaze.Bake: Transfer cake batter to loaf pan and bake until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean.Sift into egg-sugar mixture in batches, alternating with milk and corn starch to get a batter that has a slow dropping consistency. Dry Ingredients: Combine flour, baking powder and salt.Add eggs, one at a time and continue to beat. Wet Ingredients: Whisk marzipan paste with butter, followed by sugar, until fluffy.Almond Paste/Marzipan: Warm up marzipan or almond paste with water and crush into a smooth paste. How to Make Real Almond Pound Cakeīrief overview below. *Full recipe at the end of blog post. Immerse cold eggs in warm water for five minutes to bring them to room temperature. If using almond paste, add this for that marzipan like flavor. Rose water (optional): This is used in the making of marzipan.Make sure that all your ingredients are at room temperature. Eggs: We use large eggs that are at room temperature.Coconut Oil: Adding this gives a smooth glaze.Chocolate: I use good quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate bars rather than chocolate chips.Apricot Jam: I used a jam made with fresh apricots and fruit juices.Milk: Start with 2 tablespoons and add more as needed for a slow dropping consistency.Salt: To enhance the sweetness and balance flavor. If it foams up, then the baking powder is active. Baking Powder: To check if it is active, take ½ teaspoon baking powder in a small bowl and pour ¼ cup of hot water over that.If you want to use flour instead of that, then replace it by weight. Corn Starch: This is what gives the interesting texture.Almond Extract: A little goes a long way when it comes to this extract, so use only a tiny bit.So if using almond paste, be sure to adjust the sugar as indicated in the recipe. Marzipan has a higher proportion of sugar. Almond Paste or Marzipan: You can use either of these, and both are easily available online or at supermarkets.Keep it simple or take it up a notch with apricot or chocolate glaze. Now, the result is a cake that is dense, buttery, tender, flavorful and so easy. Corn starch does not have gluten, so it gives the cake a subtle sandy texture, reminiscent of super-fine ground almonds. Then I also add corn starch, instead of using only all purpose flour like other almond cake recipes. I use marzipan, which is a paste made with almonds, to add a rich taste and texture. So, now the problem is solved with this real deal almond pound cake. Not many of these actually include real almonds. Most almond pound cake recipes are simple modifications of the original, with addition of a tiny bit of almond flavor. Over the years, pound cakes have evolved to include a larger variety of cakes and this incredible almond cake now joins those. The original pound cake got it's name from the recipe which was made using a pound each of butter, sugar, flour and eggs. Chocolate Glaze (optional, recommended).

Which one is going to be their go-to device - communication or media?" Fadell said.ĭespite new and more convenient shapes and sizes, including sports-friendly clips, the iPod's days were now numbered, and the company itself was the one to blame. "People are only going to carry one device. Pockets and pocketbooks are only so deep, and so Apple's fans reached the point where they had to choose between the two devices. "The real competition came when cellphones started getting data - cellphones starting to be 2.5G, starting to look like Sidekicks and starting to put on MP3," Fadell said. No, it wasn't other MP3 players that were the greatest threat to the iPod, but an even more talented type of type of device. None of these took off in the way their inventors hoped, with the iPod regularly grabbing roughly 80% of the market during its heyday. The music player has weathered a number of threats in its time, most of which were described as "iPod killers," from Microsoft's Zune to Sony's reinvented Walkman to high-end models from the likes of Pono. When septuagenarian comedian Steve Martin makes a TV show about them you know podcasts are a fully established part of the zeitgeist.įor a decade, the iPod and its many facets captured the public's imagination - the often-parodied, silhouetted iPod ads were seemingly everywhere - but the device's popularity was constantly tested, with the biggest threat coming from within Apple. We also wouldn't have podcasts without the iPod - it's in the name - and it's an understatement to say that the format is raging right now. IPod docks like the Bose SoundDock paved the way for today's Bluetooth speakers. Read more: 'Whoa whoa': iPod's inventor looks back on Apple's 'really big risks' It's good to be the king Nowadays, Fadell likens his iPod to a time capsule that he likes to visit from time to time: "You kind of jack in and you're like, 'I'm just right back to early 2000s music and the music before that.'" It could also play people's carefully pirated curated MP3 collections. This was a portable music player with a 5GB hard drive, an easier way to load and buy songs, and the memorable tagline of "1,000 songs in your pocket." Apple was able to offer a portable music device - a physical object like the Walkman and the turntable before it - that combined with its digital iTunes platform. 23, 2001, barely a month after the events of Sept. The first MP3 players - including the Rio PMP300 - preceded the iPod by three years, but back then MP3 was a mostly illegal and highly litigable format.įadell and his colleagues labored to create the iPod, which was unveiled on Oct. The iPod soon became so ubiquitous it's easy to forget that Apple didn't actually invent the digital music player. Walkman and, as fate would have it, was recruited by Steve Jobs 20 years later to craft what would be its digital replacement. "A lot of people still remember those iPod days," Fadell told CNET in an interview. Tony Fadell, the former Apple executive who designed and built the iPod, was in a reflective mood as the music player's 20th anniversary approached. Nostalgia is an emotion that keeps coming up when people talk about the iPod, but as any neuroscientist will tell you it's because music and memory are intrinsically linked. But you can still buy an iPod Touch on Apple's website (you need to dig for it at the bottom of the home page), a testament to its remarkable longevity in an industry where last year's gadget is quickly forgotten. The iPod has evolved and radically changed over time: It's now an iPhone without the cellular radio. But the device that jump-started Apple's modern fortunes is still on sale after 20 years.Īfter its release in 2001, the iPod, helped along by the iTunes music store, became one of the most iconic gadgets of all time, spawning a host of imitators and legitimizing the market of MP3 players that it dominated. Yet while Apple's fortunes are still on the rise, the iPod's light has dimmed and the iPhone commands the lion's share of attention. Were synonymous - entities that were constantly morphing and shaping, rather than reacting to, the whims of users. We're rerunning it today following the news that the iPod is finally being put out to pasture. Editor's note, May 11, 2022: This commentary originally ran in October 2021 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iPod. |
